Yep, you read right. As I’m sure you know, Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer is probably the most used/loved concealer at the moment. It’s been out for about a year now- and it has been every makeup lover’s go to for concealing and highlighting/contouring. It originally retailed at $24 and it is now up to $27 for a 0.33 oz tube. One thing I noticed personally is that I went through my tubes pretty fast. I also feel like I don’t use nearly as much as most people do, because it is so full coverage that I don’t think you need to use a ton to get the job done.

The main reason why I like the concealer is because of how full coverage it is, and how it blends effortlessly into the skin. The only downside is that it can be a little drying- but its not excessively drying on my skin. When suggesting concealers to clients, if the Shape Tape is too dry for them, I love to recommend the Too Faced Born This Way concealer. That concealer is amazing because it has hyaluronic acid, alpine rose and coconut water in it, to keep the under eye nice and hydrated. I actually sometimes mix Shape Tape with BTW concealer to get the coverage/hydration I want. BTW is amazing, but honestly it is not as full coverage as I personally prefer.

Anyway…. recently I was watching a YouTuber named Lustrelux or Katy, and she was talking about some of her favorite products recently. One of the products she mentioned is my new favorite concealer that this post is about…. and it is pictured below next to my Shape Tape.

It is called Make No Mistake and it is by Sephora Collection. I decided to pick this up in the same shade Katy uses during the VIB Rouge Sale. I am honestly SHOOK by this product. First of all, it retails for $14 for a 0.33oz tube. So about HALF the price of Shape Tape for the same amount of product. It is sooo creamy and hydrating, but not too much to where it creases. I’m going to show you a picture of it applied under my eyes before and after baking/setting with a banana powder.

Tarte Shape Tape color: Light Neutral

Sephora Make No Mistake color: 08 Caraway

I mean… it is just CRAZY how much more coverage the Sephora concealer has!!! As you can see in the Shape Tape pictures, I still have some visible darkness. In the first picture of the MNM concealer, you can see how much more hydration the product has. Even though I still have fine lines under my eyes, I definitely think they are less visible with the Sephora concealer. I applied about the same amount under each eye, and blended it out using a damp beauty sponge. To bake, I used the same sponge and translucent powder. To further set, I went over it with a fluffy brush and a yellow based brightening powder (banana powder). I am just so impressed and happy to have found a less expensive alternative to the Shape Tape. You guys have to go and pick one of these babies up, you’ll thank me later! Purchase the concealer here. 🙂

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and please let me know what you think if you try it. Even though it worked for me it might not work the same for you so please let me know! Thank you so much for reading.

I’m at my boyfriends house this weekend and wanted to share what is in my travel makeup bag! These are kind of my essentials as well, the things I usually gravitate towards on a daily basis. I realized I forgot my favorite mascara primer at home that I use when doing my mascara, which is the Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer. My lashes will not look the same without the primer. Anyways, here it goes!

heartLaura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder– $38

I’m sure you’ve heard many people talk about this and how amazing it is- because it’s true. I’ve tried other, less expensive setting powders and there’s really nothing comparable to this one. I use it to “bake” underneath my eyes, my t-zone, and underneath my contour. This truly makes my concealer not crease underneath my eyes all day. It also helps just brighten up the areas I placed it. It has a nice soft matte finish, and will really help to set any liquid makeup placed underneath flawlessly. Must have.

heartbareMinerals Blemish Ready Mattifying Prep Gel– $25

My skin is very oily, so I gravitate towards anything I can put on my skin before my foundation to help keep my skin matte throughout the day. This one isn’t my all time favorite, but I just grabbed it when packing. It definitely does help me not get oily. I like it because it has ingredients to help clear your skin as well. (Tea tree oil, aspen bark, and a peptide complex). I apply it all over my skin after my moisturizer and before foundation. bareMinerals is a more natural brand as well, so it would be good if you have sensitive skin.

Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation– $35

Let me just say… I used to HATE this foundation. I never recommended it, never wore it. I always thought it was SOOO thick, and it is thick- but you have to apply it the right way and with the right tool. It’s one of my favorites now and was my holy grail for a while. The coverage is super full- which is what I personally prefer. And it’s one of the few foundations that I don’t get oily through at the end of the day. It doesn’t separate on my oilier parts of my skin, it stays the same all day! I’m in the shade Medium 54 which is also one of the best color matches for me. I apply it with a damp Beauty Blender, which helps it really melt into the skin and look natural. People either love or hate this foundation, and I was definitely a hater before, but I absolutely adore it now. Because it is thicker, I would not recommend it if you have a lot of texture on your skin because the texture will show right through.

Sephora Collection MicroSmooth Baked Foundation Face Powder– $22

I’m soo in love with this powder! Because I use a full coverage liquid foundation- I like to use a translucent or a very sheer powder on top to set my makeup. After I bake my face with the Laura Mercier translucent powder, I will dust of the extra with this powder on my brush to set the rest of my skin. This powder is very comparable to MAC Mineralize Skin Finish powder, in the sense that it is baked and very sheer. It has a soft glow and shimmer to it, to mimic how our skin would naturally glow. And powders like that are my absolute favorite! Tip: you don’t want to layer a full coverage powder on top of a full coverage liquid- that’s when you will look cakey.

Sephora Collection Microsmooth Baked Bronzer Duo in “Honey Heat”– $19

I bought this because I had been eyeing the Too Faced Sweet Tea bronzer, then I realized that this one is almost an exact dupe and at a lower price point. I love using this after I contour lightly all over my face to warm up my skin. It gives the perfect bronze glow, without looking orange. Sometimes if I don’t feel like wearing contour or blush, I will just apply this on the high points of my face with highlighter and it looks so soft and natural.

heartNARS Blush in “Orgasm”– $30

This is a blush I feel like everyone should have in their collection. It is a universally flattering shade and looks good on all skin tones. It is just a perfect pinky peach tone with a hint of gold shimmer when the light catches it. Its a great every day blush, and is super pigmented so a little goes a long way. NARS has a whole Orgasm collection with lips, cheeks, and even nail polish. It’s such a beautiful color!

heartChristian Dior Backstage Eye Prime– $28

Before I discovered this one, I only had one eyeshadow primer that I could use. My eyelids get SO oily that my eyeshadow would crease after a couple of hours, especially when I did a smokey eye. I had always grabbed and used this primer on my clients because I loved that it had a beige tone to it so it conceals the eyelid and primes for shadow. When I got it I was so excited because I hoped it would work for me. And it does! It’s super fast and easy to use- I just use my finger and swipe it on from lash line to brow bone and boom my eye is concealed and ready for shadow. For some odd reason though, it was pulled from Sephora. I don’t know why, and now I have to find a new one to use on my clients. But I’m glad I was able to get one before it exited.

Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade in “Soft Brown”– $18

I love dipbrow. I use it to really shape the tail ends of my brows and I can create a perfectly defined arch with this product. It seems intimidating at first, but as long as you use the right brush (I use this one) and use the spooley to blend the product throughout, you can truly create a natural defined brow. For the price, you get a lot of product. Just make sure to always keep the jar tightly closed so it doesn’t dry out, it should last you a while.

heartMAKEUP FOREVER Pro Sculpting Brow in “20”– $27

I use this pencil after I use dipbrow on my ends, but I use this one towards the front of my brows going into the center. It’s a lighter color than the dipbrow, and I do that to make it appear more as an ombre brow. The pencil is angled so it makes it super easy to get the right shape. It’s super soft and blends well. One thing I recently discovered about it too, is that you can twist off half of it off and there is a brow highlighter in it! So I use that to sculpt out underneath and on top of my brow. It has lasted me a while too, I’m pretty impressed since retractable pencils seem to run out fast.

heartLancôme Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Cushion Foundation SPF 50– $47

This is Lancome’s latest addition to their Teint Idole family. I’m typically not a huge fan of cushion foundations because they are usually extremely sheer and have a radiant finish. But not this one! It has a soft matte finish, and it has great buildable coverage. I love this for a quick, out the door medium to full coverage foundation. I’m in the color 260 Bisque (N) which is a great match for my skin.

Sephora Collection Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner– $12

This is one of my favorite, super basic, retractable black eyeliner. It is super waterproof and it just glides on without tugging. I like it in my waterline, and that’s mainly where I use it. Awesome liner for a great price, I have a couple of these as back ups.

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer– $24

I’m sure you’ve seen YouTuber’s rave about this concealer recently, and they have every right to! This is one of the best concealers I’ve ever used. It’s soooo full coverage, you need just one swipe for full pigment. The smell is fresh and lovely as well. It’s not cakey, and it’s not oily. It really is the perfect texture. I LOVE how big the bottle is too! I feel like this will last me forever. 10/10 would recommend.

COVER FX Blemish Treatment Concealer– $25

I love using this concealer on top of blemishes. It has 1% salicylic acid in it, to help treat your breakout while delivering a full coverage.I don’t really feel like it helps clear my pimples, but I feel better putting this on top of my acne rather than regular makeup.

Sephora Collection Colorful Waterproof Eyeliner 24hr Wear– $12

Winged eyeliner is one of my staples, so I go through A LOT of liquid eyeliner. This is one of my favorites, it has a nice matte finish that truly does last all day. No smudging, or if my eyes water it doesn’t come right off. I also love the precise little brush on this, it makes it super easy for me to get that sharp wing.

heartLancôme HYPNÔSE DRAMA Instant Full Body Volume Mascara– $27.50

I love this mascara sooo much!! If you want full volume without having to keep on adding layers- this mascara is for you. It also isn’t super clumpy which is nice! I love the “S” shaped brush, it makes it really just glide through your lashes.

heartTarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara– $23

Right after I use the Hypnose Drama, I go in with this mascara because its more of a plastic stiff brush, so it helps to really separate my lashes. It helps to add additional volume as well, I’m super impressed with this mascara and have been using it every day.

Tarte Eyelash Curler– $20

To be honest, this is a pretty basic eyelash curler. It curls my lashes, but not super well. I’ve used better ones before. But I bough it cause it’s sooo pretty, and it does the job. I bought this limited edition one last holiday season, so I linked this years which is even prettier! I honestly wear false lashes a lot so I don’t use it too often.

And that’s it! I also brought some Z-Palette’s with blush/contour in it, as well as an eyeshadow palette and my glow kit. I know this was a long one, but I hope some of you enjoyed it and found it helpful/useful.

EMPTIES | Skincare

Hello and welcome to my blog & my first ever post! I have saved up some empties to do some reviews and this first one is going to be on some makeup remover/skincare. Please leave any questions/feedback and enjoy!

SEPHORA COLLECTION- Cleansing & Exfoliating Wipes “Yuzu” $7.50

What it is: These are part of Sephora Collection’s re-launch of their makeup removing wipes, in the scent “Yuzu” which are supposed to be revitalizing and toning (25 wipes). I purchased all of them that said can be used on the face & eye area to remove makeup.

My review: I like these for removing my face makeup. My eyes are pretty sensitive- and these burned the shit out of my eyes, to be honest. They are extremely fragrant, and fragrance can be super irritating for the eyes and the face. I didn’t mind the smell, but my eyes just did not like it at all. I did also finish the same wipes but in the coconut water (soothing and relaxing) scent, and that one was fine on my eyes (and my favorite one so far). I’m currently using the rose (ultra moisturizing and brightening) ones on my face only right now, but the scent hurts my eyes as well with the rose ones unfortunately.

Overall: I would not recommend the Yuzu or Rose on your eyes if your eyes are sensitive, but they are great at removing face makeup. If any of these new ones irritated your eyes as well, please let me know- I’m super curious! Tip: I always recommend using a face cleanser after using a wipe, as a face wipe might not get ALL of the makeup, dirt, & grime off your face. BONUS tip: use a Clarisonic ($149) with your cleanser to get 6x better cleansing than your hands.

heartLANCÔME- BI-FACIL- Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover $15/$30/$39

What it is: A liquid eye makeup remover intended to use with a cotton pad. (I prefer to use the Shiseido ones! $9.50)

My review: I haven’t used this type of eye makeup remover in a while, but I had ran out of the one I usually use and had one of these laying around. The ones I was used to using was the old school brands such as the Neutrogena one, which I hated cause they were always so damn oily and left a nasty residue. This one really doesn’t do that. Also, it didn’t irritate my eyes at all which is always a plus in my book.

Overall: I personally prefer more of a cream based eye makeup remover, so I probably wouldn’t go out and purchase this one. But, if you do prefer the liquid type, definitely try this out if you don’t want that oiliness residue.

heartDRUNK ELEPHANT- C-Firma™ Day Serum $80

What it is: A vitamin C based serum that is suggested for day time use. Vitamin C is known for “tightening, brightening, and lightening” the skin. Drunk Elephant is also more of a natural skincare line.

My review: It was OK. I got a tiny 8mL bottle to try out, and to be honest, I didn’t see much of a change in my skin. And I do feel like I got a good amount of use out of the tiny little bottle, so that was impressive. It had kind of an oily texture to it as well- almost like it was an oil and not so much a serum. But I do feel like it did absorb nicely into the skin. I don’t feel like I noticed any lightening or brightening, which is what I mainly look for in vitamin-C products.

Overall: Maybe it didn’t work for me, but it might work for someone else. I didn’t experience any redness, irritation, or breakouts from this product which is always a good thing. So it was just “eh”. I would advise getting a sample of this first, before you take the plunge and spend the $80.

heartDRUNK ELEPHANT- T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum $90

What it is: A 12% glycolic night serum for the skin. Used to help produce collagen, resurface and refine the skin, as well as exfoliating the skin over night.

My review: HOLY. GRAIL. SERUM. I fell in love with this one. I again only got a little 8mL bottle to try, which lasted me a good amount of time- you need less than half a pump for your whole face and neck. I truly saw a difference in my skin when I was using this product. My skin stayed clear, my acne scars faded. I was very impressed. I would put it on at night time following with my moisturizer, and I really feel like I woke up to a brighter complexion. Drunk Elephant really impressed me with this one, definitely results driven.

Overall: If you’re looking for some true results over night and are sensitive- I highly recommend this product. It is pretty pricey- but I will repurchase soon. They came out with this holiday set- which gives you a chance to try some of their other products for $6 since the serum itself is $90 and the kit is $96. This is absolutely my favorite treatment night time serum at the moment!

heartTATCHA- Luminous Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum– $95

What it is: An eye serum that is meant to hydrate and smooth the eye area before eye cream.

My review: Loveeeeeee!!! Eye serums/eye creams are very difficult for me because my eyes are so sensitive. I will wake up with dry, red, flaky eyes from most eye creams/serums. I love this one for the reason that it did not irritate my eyes, YAY! Tatcha the brand itself is rapidly becoming one of my favorite skincare brands in general. All of their products have their HADASEI-3™ antiaging blend of green tea, rice bran, and red algae, that restores and protects skin. This also gives me enough moisture by itself that I do not even need to layer an eye cream on top of it.

Overall: If you’re looking for a quick and easy 2-in-1 eye serum/cream that is lightweight enough for day time, yet moisturizing enough for night time, this is it. Also of course if you’re sensitive like me and want a GOOD eye treatment, I would recommend this as well.
